A combination of red cards and poor second half performance caused PROSTO to loose the game and drop down to #8 spot in the CSL. The home team was first to create dangerous scoring opportunities, but was unable to put the ball in the back of the net which has been the team's biggest problem since the beginning of the season. Finally, in the 30th minute of the game Adrian Zygo played a brilliant ball to Marcin Winiarski who beat Flaviense's goalkeeper to the far post to put PROSTO ahead 1-0. Just few minutes after Winiarski's goal, B.S Flaviense capitalized on PROSTO'S mistake and scored an equalizer. N.B PROSTO failed to set up a wall in time and with a quick restart one of the Flaviense's players sneaked up behind PROSTO'S defense and beat D. Urban to tie the game 1-1. PROSTO'S coach P. Buksza was rejected from the game on the same play after he disagreed with the referee's decision to start the play before the whistle was blown. Things just got worse for PROSTO in the second half. N.B PROSTO defenders failed to mark up B.S Flaviense players inside the box and the visiting team from Bridgeport scored another goal to take the lead. The home team was close to scoring an equalizer but failed to release a good final shot inside the Flaviense penalty box. All the missed scoring opportunities came back to haunt PROSTO. B.S Flaviense scored their 3rd goal of the game in the 75th minute. It was hard to believe the home team could come back to tie this game the way things were going for them. The goal scorer Marcin Winiarski received his second yellow card and was rejected from the game to leave PROSTO playing a man down. With 10 minutes to go, substitute Salko Kolarevic who just came in the game received a straight red card after a brutal foul on the Flaviense player. With only 9 players on the field and the head coach in the stands there was nothing else PROSTO could have done but to wait for the final whistle. In the last minute of the game, the referee awarded PROSTO a penalty kick but Ernest Zygo's shot was blocked by Flaviense's goalkeeper. The game ended 3-1 (1-1) in favor of B.S Flaviense. As a reminder, New Britain PROSTO S.C will travel to Bridgeport next Sunday to take on the #3 team in the CSL Vasco De Gama. The kick-off time is scheduled for 5:00p.m.

On a rainy Sunday afternoon, New Britain PROSTO traveled to Hartford without their 5 starters to take on the Hartford United. PROSTO needed to win this game in order to still be in the play-off race this season. It was a great start for PROSTO. In the 10th minute of the game, Michal Zuber took a header towards Hartford goal. Despite a great effort to clear the ball from the goal line, one of Hartford defenders knocked the ball inside the goal for an own goal to give PROSTO a 1-0 lead. Just a few minutes after jumping ahead 1-0, PROSTO'S defender left D. Mesquita unmarked inside the penalty box. Mesquita gave no chance to PROSTO'S goalkeeper by placing a nice shot in the upper right corner to tie the game 1-1. PROSTO had couple more chances to take the lead again. Including a nice combination play from Zuber who gave a pass to Labanowicz who than played a one touch through ball to Cruz, but Hartford's goalkeeper made a spectacular save from a 3 yard shot by Oscar Cruz. The score remained 1-1 for the rest of the first half. In the second half PROSTO needed to capitalize on their scoring chances if they were thinking about winning this game. As Hartford continued to pepper PROSTO'S goal with shots, the visiting team counter attacked in the 65th minute and took the lead again. Patryk "RAHA" Godlewski played a ball across the penalty box to Oscar Cruz who beat the goalkeeper in his debut. But PROSTO knew that a one goal lead might not be enough to beat the home team as they continued to create dangerous plays inside PROSTO'S penalty box. Finally in the 77th minute, Ernest Zygo shot the ball in the lower right corner assisted by Kris Labanowicz to give PROSTO a comfortable 3-1 lead over the Hartford United. E. Zygo would have a chance to score his second goal of the game, but his free-kick shot from 20 yards out hit the cross bar. N.B PROSTO had a chance to seal the game in the 83rd minute, but Labanowicz powerful shot from 25 yards out nearly missed the goal. In the added time, PROSTO dropped back and cruised to a 3-1 victory over the Hartford United to advance one spot to #7 in the CSL.

Exactly one year ago New Britain PROSTO suffered their biggest defeat in the club history by loosing to Olympia Stamford 0 : 10. On Sunday, PROSTO traveled to Stamford, CT to take on the Olympia Stamford again with only one thing on their mind, not to loose 0-10 again. Coach Przemek Buksza shifted some players around for this game to give PROSTO more experience in the back and some additional speed up top. Kris Labanowicz who usually plays up top was shifted to a right back position, while Adrian Zygo who is a right mid-fielder was placed up top. As the game progressed, PROSTO'S players started feeling more comfortable and were able to create some scoring chances as well. In the 25th minute Patryk Godlewski got away from Olympia's defenders, but was unable to put the ball in the net from 7 yards out. Marcin Winiarski and Ernest Zygo were also close to putting PROSTO ahead, but were unable to find the back of the net. All the missed opportunities would almost come back to haunt PROSTO. In the 35 minute Olympia's striker got away from PROSTO'S defenders but Dawid Fedorowicz was first to the ball. The score remained 0-0 for the rest of the first half. The roles shifted in the second half. N.B. PROSTO was the team who attacked more often. The game got more aggressive with both team wanting to win. With 20 minutes remaining, Patryk Godlewski took a hard low shot to the far post and beat Olympia's goalkeeper Mariusz Szczepanik to give PROSTO a one goal lead. With time running out for Olympia Stamford, they had to turn into a more offensive team but that caused them to open up more in the back. PROSTO took advantage of that and scored their second goal of the night. Adrian Zygo beat Olympia's defender, dribbled the ball around M. Szczepanik and placed the ball in the back of the net for his 4th goal of the season. The game finished 2-0 in favor of New Britain PROSTO S.C! This was PROSTO'S first victory over Olympia Stamford. Well earned 3 points brought PROSTO one step closer of achieving their goal by making the 2009 CSL Play-Offs. As a reminder, N.B. PROSTO will travel to Hartford, CT to take on the #5 team in the Connecticut Soccer League HARTFORD UNITED. The game is scheduled to kick-off at 3:00 p.m.

New Britain PROSTO traveled to Sandy Hook on Sunday to take on Newtown S.C. PROSTO'S defense came out flat in the beginning giving up 2 break-away goals early in the game. With 2 goals behind, PROSTO needed to take control of the game and they did. First, Labanowicz shot from 20 yards out nearly missed the goal. A few minutes later, Patrick Godlewski fired a shot but Newtown's goalkeeper did a good job by punching the ball over the cross bar for a corner kick. In the 35th minute of the game, Damian Urban found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and placed a nice shot over his head for PROSTO'S first goal of the game. The score remained 2-1 in favor of Newtown for the rest of the first-half. Coach Przemek Buksza made a small change at half-time by putting Godlewski back in the game after he was taken out of the game in the 25th minute with a minor injury. Braulio Hereida was the player who substituted Godlewski. PROSTO came out much better for the second half than they did for the first. Just 5 minutes into the second half, Ernest Zygo played a through ball to Kris Labanowicz who beat Newtown's goalkeeper to tie the game 2-2. This was Labanowicz 5th goal of the season. In the 70th minute Ernest Zygo gave PROSTO the lead after a powerful free-kick shot from 25 yards out. Zygo recorded his 8th goal of the season. Unfortunately that was the last good play produced by the visiting team. PROSTO started playing reckless which resulted in 5 yellow cards. The team couldn't keep their composure. Players lost focus and with less than 5 minutes to go, Newtown scored the equalizer. Coach Buksza substituted Dwight Williams for Ernest Zygo to spark up the offense in the last minutes of the game, but that was all N.B PROSTO had in them. The game ended in a 3-3 draw. Up next for PROSTO is an away game in Stamford. The game is scheduled for this Sunday 5:00p.m. at the Kosciuszko Park in Stamford, CT. In their last meeting N.B PROSTO made a surprise by nearly beating Olympia Stamford, but the visiting team scored an equalizer in the last minute to tie the game 1-1. Currently Olympia Stamford hold the #2 spot in the league with 27 points, where New Britain PROSTO is still in the #8 spot with 12 points.

New Britain PROSTO S.C finished their fall season in style after defeating Middletown Garibaldi 6-0! PROSTO traveled to Middletown on Sunday to take on the last placed team in the Connecticut Soccer League Middletown Garibaldi. Both teams came into this game with a limited number of players due to injuries including PROSTO striker Kris Labanowicz (fractured ribs) and midfielder Damian Urban (pulled muscle). Fortunately for PROSTO, other players stepped up in this game including Adrian Zygo who played exceptionally well in this game. Adrian Zygo scored the teams first hat-trick this season. The game started slow but picked up mid through the first half when Adrian Zygo scored his first goal of the night. Few minutes later Braulio HEREIDA gave PROSTO a 2-0 lead after a breakaway goal in the 30th minute of the game. The visiting team from New Britain scored two more goals before the half-time which pretty much sealed the game. Middletown Garibaldi played 2 men down the whole time which made it impossible to bounce back after allowing PROSTO to score 4 goals in 45 minutes. Not much changed in the second half. N.B PROSTO controlled the game and had the possession most of the time. Adrian Zygo and "Misiek" both scored a goal before the referee at the request of Middletown Garibaldi's coach stopped the game in the 65th minute. The final score of the game was 6-0, but could have been a lot more if PROSTO finished their scoring chances in the first half. Well earned 3 points will help PROSTO advance to # 8 spot in the Connecticut Soccer League. Now the team will take a short break before they return to the pitch for the Indoor League at the Farmington Sports Arena in January.

New Britain PROSTO S.C defeated their biggest rival New Britain Polonia Falcons 1-0 on a Sunday afternoon at Stanley Quarter Park to move up a few spots in the CSL table. Right from the start, PROSTO pressured the Falcons and in the 10th minute of the game a former F.C Polonia player Kris Labanowicz put one in the net to give N.B PROSTO a 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by defender Jarek Marac who also played for F.C Polonia a few years back. The Falcons didn’t waste any time and created a few scoring chances themselves. But PROSTO’s goalkeeper Damian Urban was outstanding that day and was able to stop all the shots. Before the half-time Patrick Godlewski found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper but the play was stopped by a questionable offside call by the referee. The second half began just as the first half ended. PROSTO’s striker Kris Labanowicz received a great pass from Roman Hudzyak but unfortunately was caught offside. In the 65th minute Falcons goalkeeper Wojtek S. made a great save after a direct free kick shot by Ernest Zygo. On the next play Falcons striker Adam Sebastian missed the opportunity to tie the game when broke away from PROSTO’s defenders but Damian Urban won the one-on-one battle. New Britain PROSTO S.C was able to keep the 1-0 lead and earned the very important 3 points after defeating the favorites F.C Polonia Falcons. With the end of the fall season approaching, PROSTO will travel to Hartford to take on the Hartford Ports who currently is in the 6th place in the CSL. The kick-off time is set for 2:00p.m.

New Britain PROSTO S.C suffered another loss this season when they hosted Vasco De Gama at Falcons Field on Sunday. It was PROSTO’s third straight loss after what it looked like a promising start in the beginning of the season. With some changes in the line-up, PROSTO put a lot of pressure on Vasco De Gama’s defenders right from the beginning. In the 10th minute of the game, Patrick Godlewski was fouled in the box by Vasco D e Gama goalkeeper and Ernest Zygo converted the penalty kick to give PROSTO the 1-0 lead. Unfortu nately for N.B PROSTO, Patrick Godlewski was taken out again just a few minutes later, this time by Vasco De Gama defender and had to leave the game with a knee injury. Just before the half-time, Kris Labanowicz who was back for this game after missing last week’s match due to a right foot injury put N.B PROSTO ahead 2-0 on a breakaway goal. What seemed like New Britain PROSTO S.C had a good control of the game, turned out to be a disaster for the home team. Vasco De Gama scored quick two goals right from the start of the second half to tie the game at 2. Frustrated PROSTO’s defense started playing reckless. In the 65th minute Jason Williams fouled one of the Vasco’s midfielders in front of the box. M. Maiba of Vasco De Gama scored with a shot from 25 meters out. Vasco De Gama sealed their victory with their fourth goal of the night with just 15 minutes to go. After that N.B PROSTO was able to create some great scoring chances, but was unable to put one in the net. The game ended with a final score of 4-2 (0-2) in favor of Vasco De Gama. As a reminder New Britain PROSTO S.C will travel to Bridgeport next week for their second away game this season to play Bridgeport Italians. The kick-off time for this game is set for 3:00p.m.

In a very bad style, New Britain PROSTO S.C lost their second game in the season 1-4 against the #8 team in the league Flafiense S.C. PROSTO defense came out flat in the first minutes of the game and allowed Flaviense S.C to score early and take the lead. The second goal happened just a few minutes later after a controversial penalty kick was given by the referee. Roman Hudzyak slide tackled one of the Flaviense players in the box and the referee pointed at the spot, even though Hudzyak clearly got the ball. Miscommunication in the back was another issues PROSTO defense had on Sunday which was the result of the third goal scored by Flaviense S.C in the first half. Before half time injured Czarek Karwowski needed to be replaced by defender Tomasz Ostynski. N.B PROSTO scored a contact goal by Ernest Zygo. Unfortunately Flaviense S.C answered back with another goal to take a 4-1 lead. Coach Przemek Buksza was forced to make some changes at half time. Goalkeeper Braulio Hereida was substituted by Adrian Cyran from Mielec, Poland. In the 65th minute, the referee had to stop the game due to lighting problem on the field. The Connecticut Soccer League rule states that if a game is abandoned before the 70th minute, it is ruled incomplete and it's up to the CSL officials to decide if the game should be replayed or not. The club has to wait now for the CSL's decision to see when the game is going to be re-played if the officials decide to rule Sundays game against Flaviense S.C incomplete. In a meantime the team will be preparing this week for what is seems like their toughest game of the season against the league leader Vasco De Gama. Striker Kris Labanowicz is expected to be fit for this game after missing last week's game due to a foot injury. The game is scheduled for 3p.m kick-off at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain.

On a wet Sunday afternoon at Stanley Quarter Park, the visiting team from Hartford beat New Britain PROSTO 4-2(1-1) to take the 3 points and jump into 4th place in the league. In the first half of the game, N.B PROSTO controlled most of the play and in the 15th minute Omar McFARLANE broke away from the defenders and beat the goalkeeper to put PROSTO ahead 1-0. Unfortunately Hartford United was able to tie the game at 1 just before the half. Second half started great for N.B PROSTO after striker Kris LABANOWICZ found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and gave PROSTO the lead again. It was Labanowicz's 2nd goal of the season. All that changed just a few minutes after PROSTO's goal. Starting 11 defender Roman HUDZYAK suffered a minor head concussion and had to leave the game in the 65th minute. Hartford Utd. scored an equalizer in the 67th minute and took the lead for the first time in the game just couple minutes after the equalizer. Hartford's very physical play was just too much for PROSTO players that day. With time running out N.B PROSTO had nothing left in them and gave up another goal just before the final whistle. Next Sunday, the team will hit the road for the first away game this season against Flaviense SC in Bridgeport, CT. The kick-off time for this game is set for 5:00p.m

Before the game started 1 point vs. Olympia would be a very good result for PROSTO but after the last whistle it was not. In the first 20 minutes our striker Patrick GODLEWSKI had two chances to beat Olympia's keeper but unfortunately he missed both of them. In about 30th minute of the game Adrian ZYGO was fouled on 20th meter, his brother Ernest ZYGO took the free-kick and didn't give any chances to the experienced Olympia's keeper Mariusz SZCZEPANIK. Fantastic shot by Ernest and it was 1:0 for PROSTO. Olympias's players were trying to change the result but PROSTO played well in defence and ... very unlucky in offence. It could have been 2 or 3:0 in couple minutes, Braulio HEREIDA, Roman HUDZYAK and Patrick GODLEWSKI missed their chances. Five minutes before the end of the game fantastic run on the right side by Patrick GODLEWSKI is ended by a very bad shot by Omar MACFARLANE who was couple meters away from the empty goal. Unfortunately Olympia equalised in 94th minute of the game.

The same player scored another one in the 22nd minute by taking advantage of the keeper's mistake and shooting from the middle of the field. He also assisted Kris LABANOWICZ couple minutes before break.4th goal was scored by Braulio HEREIDA (assisted by Roman Hudzyak) in the second half. The first game of the season 2008/09 did not start well for PROSTO. Visitors from Middletown scored pretty quick and right after that we lost one player due to a red card for our striker Patrick GODLEWSKI. We began playing nervously but it changed after the break. Kris LABANOWICZ who was our only striker at this time had two chances "one on one" with the keeper but unfortunately didn't score. Couple minutes after Ernest ZYGO had more luck and scored equaliser (assisted by Tomasz OSTYNSKI).
